Cloud Computing Presentation
In Melbourne recently, Holding Redlich Lawyers and BDO (one of Queensland's largest accounting firm) teamed up with e-Sentinel to present a night on Cloud Computing...legal, business and technical issues.
We started with an introduction to the concept of Cloud Computing and compared this concept to other types of IT outsourcing. Then considered some of the main benefits as well as the key legal risks (including security of data, privacy and jurisdictional and regulatory issues).
Then we considered the impact of cloud computing on computer forensic investigations and how this has affected traditional evidence collecting and investigation techniques. We also discussed some of the business benefits of cloud computing including financial consideration and what cloud computing can offer for business continuity.
In our final section, we discussed some of the practical and technical considerations of placing data in to the cloud and depending on Web based services and looking at some of the solutions to ensure that you always have access to your data while maintaining its security.
